Gal Finishes Third at U.S. Women’s Open

Sandra Gal rode a hot putter to a third place finish at the U.S. Women’s Open. She attributed the strong finish to her positive attitude on the course and her new Metal-X #6 Putter.

“I think just leading up to this event my game started to get a lot better and more solid,” Gal said after finishing her final round. “I think it’s just less thinking and more playing and really enjoying (it) out there. When asked why she played so well Gal said, “My putting. I think what really turned it around was my putting. I did change putters last week to a Metal-X (Odyssey Putter), and I started rolling it really nicely with it and I think that really, really helped me this week.”

Metal X Putters

The #1 Putter in Golf led the putter count at the U.S. Women’s Open. 49 players used an Odyssey Putter at Blackwolf Run, which accounted for 31.2% of the field. The White Ice D.AR.T., White Ice 330 Mallet, ProType Tour Series #7, Metal-X #6 and White Hot 2-Ball Putters were the most popular Odyssey models at the LPGA Major, with three each.

On the PGA Tour, the Metal-X #7 Putter finished runner-up at The Greenbrier Classic.

At the Nature Valley First Tee Open, three players who finished T6 or better used an Odyssey gamer, including Mark Brooks. Here’s how they fared:

T3- White Hot XG #7
T3 – Black Series Tour Design #8
T6 – (Brooks) White Hot XG #7
