Odyssey Makes Major Moves at the U.S. Open

NEWS

Odyssey Staff Pros delivered some tremendous highlights and were in the hunt on Sunday at the brutally difficult U.S. Open layout. We’re still trying to get our blood pressure down after that dramatic finish, and we can only imagine how the players are feeling right about now. Here’s a recap of all the big Odyssey news from Olympic.

Els Makes Sunday Run At Olympic

Ernie Els

Ernie Els made a spectacular final round charge with great approach shots and clutch putts. The Big Easy made a move at the 7th hole on Sunday, where he hit his tee shot to 10 feet on the reachable par-4 and drained the ensuing eagle putt. The crowds rallied behind Els’ great play and he eventually finished in ninth place, just three shots behind the winning score. He used an Odyssey White Hot XG #1 Belly Putter during the event.

Meanwhile, Fredrik Jacobson finished T15 with a Black Series i #1 Putter. He moved into contention with a brilliant 68 on Saturday that included a number of great putts. Freddie has now finished T15 or better in each of the last two U.S. Opens, and he will play as the defending champion this week at the Travelers Championship.

NOTES

Odyssey Putters Well Represented on the U.S. Open Leaderboard

Metal X Putters

The #1 Putter in Golf had a strong showing at Olympic, where three Odyssey putters finished T4 or better. Here is how they stacked up:

T2 – White Hot #7
T4 – White Hot XG #7
T4 – White Hot 2-Ball Blade

Els’ ninth place finish with his Odyssey belly putter and a T10 showing from a Metal-X #7 Belly Putter rounded out a stellar U.S. Open week for Odyssey.
