Odyssey Staff Pro Olin Browne Wins The U.S. Senior Open

Senior Open

Longtime Odyssey Staffer Olin Browne won his first career major championship on Sunday when he captured the U.S. Senior Open by three shots. Olin shot 64-69-65-71 and sealed the win by ramming in a long birdie putt on the final hole. With the win, he moved to 2nd in the Charles Schwab Cp points standings. Not bad for a guy who didn’t seriously pick up golf until he was in college and has rather ominous initials for a golfer. Couldn’t happen to a better guy; congrats to Olin. He played an Odyssey Black Series i #1 Putter during his major win.

Browne’s putter tweak makes a difference

Putters

This week, Browne worked with Callaway’s Champions tour rep Jeff Opheim to add loft to his Odyssey putter. “He had the same model putter that he’s been using but we added loft this week,” Opheim said. “We added two degrees to make it six degrees of loft. When we did that, he rolled it a lot smoother.”

3 Senior Major titles in 2011 for Odyssey putters

With Browne’s win in Toledo, Odyssey has now won three major championships this year on the senior circuit. Here are the winners:

    1. Senior Open Championship – Odyssey Backstryke Marxman

  • U.S. Senior Open – Odyssey Black Series i #1 – Olin Browne
(That’s a lot of great putting by old guys using Odyssey putters.)
