Els switches to belly putter model

Ernie Els had an Odyssey White Hot XG #1 Belly Prototype Putter in his bag this week.

Immelman makes a putter switch, too
Trevor Immelman
This is Trevor hitting irons, not putters.
But if you can’t hit your irons, you’ll never get to your putter.
Confucius taught me that. He was a childhood friend.

Must be something going around in the South African camp, as Trevor Immelman also switched putters this week at Harbour Town. Immelman worked with Odyssey’s Tour Rep to find a putter that best matched his stroke. He wound up with an Odyssey White Hot XG #7H Putter. Immelman said that he is open to nontraditional looks, which Odyssey has plenty of. Based on the work he did last week, Immelman decided to drop his putter shaft length from 34.125” to 33”, improving his hand and eye position. He looked at three Odyssey models that feature a higher MOI and settled on the face-balanced White Hot XG #7H with a butane finish.

Speaking of Odyssey…

On the Japanese men’s Tour, there were an astounding 87 Odyssey putters in the play. The next closest brand had 21.
