Odyssey putter wins the Accenture Match Play Championship
The winner of the Accenture Match Play Championship at Dove Mountain used an Odyssey White Hot XG 7H. It’s important to note that he was likely conceded many of his putts simply because he was using an Odyssey putter. Try one. You’ll see. The Swirl will intimidate foes; it’s no joke.
The Dove Mountain track outside Tucson, where the Match Play Championship was held, stretched to a rather formidable 7,833 yards. That’s Ree-donk-u-lous.
Odyssey wins the putter count at Match Play Championship
Of the 64 best players in the world teeing it up this past week in Arizona, 19 of them (or 29.7% of the field) were using an Odyssey putter. That was more than any other putter manufacturer. Proving the variety of the line, only two models—the White Hot #5 and the White Hot 2-Ball—were used by more than one player. Both models were used by two players each.
According to the Darrell Survey, Odyssey had:
- More Odyssey putters in play (20) than any other brand; 31.7% of the field
Half dozen Odyssey staffers qualify for Match Play Championship
Odyssey was also represented by Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Alvaro Quiros, Brendan Jones and Thomas Bjorn. Mickelson actually knocked out Jones in the first round while Holmes eliminated Els in the second round. We really should have planned that better.
